The Spiral Path of Healing (Poetry)

Updated: Nov 7, 2023

Healing is not a destination

one arrives to.

It is always in motion.

Like the seasons,

it’s forever changing —

Like the tides,

it ebbs and flows.

Like walking a spiral staircase

we face the lesson

again and again

until at last,

we have learned.

It’s important to work on oneself,

yes,

but also remember:

You are not flawed.

You are not broken.

Emotional healing is not something we achieve,

it’s something we live.

And like breaking a bone,

we may never be the same.

We may have to walk more lightly.

We may have to use a cane.

There may be things that always remind us

that there is a place inside

that aches.

Let not your healing journey become a quest

to self fulfilment.

Each masterclass

and guru

failing at making you whole.

You are whole, my child.

You aren’t where you want to be.

But that’s okay,

that’s okay,

for it’s all a part

of the journey.
