I really wanted to showcase darkness and complexity versus colour and simplicity with this art piece. This drawing was inspired by a photograph I took of a Garry Oak tree leaf (below). I titled it Sweet Surrender because the trees each Autumn gracefully show us how beautiful it is to let dead things go.
